The church's counterfaçade features 11th-century murals depicting a monumental Crucifixion. Above, two angels, the sun, and the moon witness the event. Below, the Madonna is consoled by Saint John the Evangelist, two Roman soldiers, Mary Magdalene, and another figure. On either side, the two thieves are tied to the cross.
